Locating And Searching Dragons

Chapter 3

Locating such elegant creatures as dragons may differ in difficulty depending on which species you are looking for. It is recommended that a beginning dragon searcher should visit a nearby place known to be inhabited by dragons - for example, you may want to look for the Common Welsh Green if you live in Wales or anywhere nearby, or an Antipodean Opaleye if you reside in Australia.

Like this, you must know where dragons are in order to find them. Here is a list to where the more known species of dragons inhabit and descriptions of some of its external features:

-Hungarian Horntail: Native to Hungaria, of course, and nearby countries. It usually keeps its lair at mountains like most other breeds. Its mighty black scales could deflect almost anything, and blows its fire in violent blasts. This should only be pursued by experts, as even professional breeders and researchers have great trouble studying these beasts, and is notorious to be the most vicious dragon of all species.

-Hebridean Black: Native to Hebrides Islands, but sometimes found drifting off to the nearby seas. Swarthy in color, its tough, dark scales

-Peruvian Vipertooth: Native to Peru, found in mountainous regions. Proceed with more caution when pursuing this dragon, as it is infamous for its "sweet tooth" for humans.

-Chinese Fireball: Native to most parts of China and Eastern countries. Also known as Liondragon, with long body structure with a "beard" around its mouth - the same way some unicorns do.

-Norwegian Ridgeback: Native to Norway, with a dark, rugged back, easily found in mountains and canyons. Many have a greenish swarthy color.

-Antipodean Opaleye: Native to New Zealand and parts of Australia. Most inhabit valleys and canyons. As its name states, its most recognizable feature is its eyes, which look very similar to an opal, with a pupil that blends extremely well with the rest of its pale eye.

-Common Welsh Green: Native to Wales and nearby parts of Europe. Many prefer mountains in plateaus and plains for their lairs. It shoots green jets of flame, similar in color with its outer greenish skin.

-Catalonian Fireball: Native to a north eastern part of Spain, called Catalonia, mostly live in mountains, similarly to Liondragons.

-Portuguese Long-Snout:

-Swedish Short-Snout

-Romanian Longhorn

-Ukrainian Ironbelly
