Chapter 4: Quidditch and other clubs

Chapter 4

Quidditch

Quidditch teams consist of 7 players, usually, 3 chasers, 2 beaters, a seeker, and a keeper. As quidditch matches will take place as Kahoot matches, 2 of the 7 players will be reserves in case there are connection problems.

#7 If you do make it onto the team, make sure to always be punctual for matches and clear your schedule as your team's reserve may end up taking your place for that match and if you are constantly late / missing you might end up losing your spot permanently!

Set an alarm for 10 minutes before it starts so you have time to set everything up!

To get onto the team, at the start of the year, there will be a tryout where the quidditch organizer, head of house, and prefects will choose the highest-scoring players and put them on the team, as well as making a note of the runner-ups. Unfortunately, if you’ve joined late the tryouts may have already taken place and you’ll have to wait until the next tryouts. If you are unsure ask your prefect/ HoH.

After each house has their team, we will begin the season of quidditch matches that will take place once a week. There will be a Google call that all players must join that will share the Kahoot questions and such; other students and faculty members will be given the opportunity to join and watch.

The Kahoot quiz will rely on agility as it will be simple questions with decoy answers to throw players off their game! Some of the questions will be straight-forward maths questions (e.g 5 - 5) and others will be quidditch-based questions that the answer is entirely based on luck (e.g The golden snitch is getting away! Do you go … up? Down? Left? Right?)

Other clubs

You can see all the available clubs on your timetable and if you go onto the next page you can see further details for each club. Each club will have a president and a vice president and how you can earn that title will be different with each club.

Every club will be its own classroom so if you are interested in joining you can join the class and see what's going on without adding your name to the list, then leave again.

If you have an idea of a new club that you think will be popular, send an email to [email1] and [email2] and if we agree that it’s a good idea we’ll set it up.

#8 Don’t be afraid to suggest new ideas! They’ll make you stand out from everyone else which could end up in your favor if you apply for something (e.g prefect )

So don’t be afraid to email us / ask your common room!
