Mokosz - also known as Mokosza or Mokusza, an East Slavic goddess mentioned in the Vladimir pantheon next to other deities, but there is no strong evidence of belief in her in other Slavic areas. In folk tales, she appears in the company of melanges and rozhanitsa, which may suggest that she is a goddess of a lower order, or a demon. In northern Russian folklore, Mokosha-Mokusha is depicted as a woman with a large head and long arms. He shears and looks after sheep and spins flax. The people make her an offering in the form of a ball of wool left next to the shears.
