Knowledge about the beliefs of the Slavs and their vision of the world is so unclear that there is a constant dispute between researchers about many issues related to them. One such issue is the various theses regarding the creation of the world. Thus, there are, among others, hypotheses about the birth of the world from a cosmic egg, from the sand of creation, or finally from a sprouting and then growing tree. According to some researchers, it was the cosmic tree that the Slavs worshiped and considered it a kind of pillar of the world, connecting all stages of human life. Arguments suggesting the truth of this view can be found in the beliefs relating to Wyraj and Nawia. In these beliefs, the Slavs considered the world tree to be an axis whose individual levels were assigned to specific stages of human existence - before birth, during life and after death.
