6' 3" Godzilla

Chapter 12

Ana sighed. "Are you sure this'll work?"

Sirius, James, and Peter nodded silently.

"Alright," said Ana. "Let's go to class."

They snuck out of the empty classroom and into Professor McGonagall's class.

"Hi Professor," said Ana jovially.

"Hello, Miss Miracle," said McGonagall kindly. "Why are Misters Potter, Black, Pettigrew wearing chalkboards around their necks? Not another prank, I hope?"

Sirius shook his head, shifting the Mandrake leaf inside his mouth with his tongue.

"They have a bet going on to see who can stay quiet the longest," sighed Ana, in her most convincing voice. "They're writing stuff down on their chalkboards instead of talking."

McGonagall raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Well, I ought to inform all the other teachers. They should know if their students aren't to speak in class."

James nodded and went to sit down at his seat.

Lily, who sat at a nearby seat, raised an eyebrow at Ana as she also went to sit down.

Ana shook her head as if to say, 'I said the truth. What more do you want from me?'

Lily sighed and turned to her worksheet.

Ana started scribbling down answers on her parchment when she felt a poke on her shoulder.

It was Remus, sitting next to her with a 'what the heck' sort of expression.

Ana shrugged.

Remus scribbled something on a piece of scrap parchment and tossed it at Ana's desk.

Ana unfolded it and almost scoffed at what it had written inside.

"I know what you idiots are doing. We're chatting after class."

"We aren't doing anything," Ana wrote back.

Remus glared at her and turned back to his paper.

After working silently for almost half an hour, class had ended and they were dismissed.

Just as Ana tried to quickly escape the corridor to her next class, Remus grabbed her arm.

"An," he said warningly. "I know what you guys are doing. You seriously have to stop it. It's not even legal!"

Ana glared at him fiercely. "You think we care if it's legal or not? We're just trying to make the pain a little easier for you, alright?"

Remus shook his head. "I get it, but you can't just do something illegal like that!"

Ana scoffed. "You think we're giving up the best chance we have to help you?"

"There's all kinds of medicine for it," sighed Remus, running a hand through his curly light brown hair. "I don't need... the stuff you're doing."

"Yeah," said Ana. "There is medicine. But almost no one has the kind of money to get it, except Merlin, maybe!"

"Merlin's dead."

"Oh."

A short pause.

"Look," sighed Ana. "I get it if you don't want us to do this, alright? But you're our best friend." She reached out and took a hold of Remus' warm hand. "And we're gonna do anything- ANYTHING- to make sure you're okay."

Remus stood there for a second, slightly speechless.

Then he pulled Ana in for a tight hug.

Ana, who was initially caught by surprise, melted into the hug quick enough.

"WE SHIP IT!" squealed a couple of random kids they didn't know.

"ANAMUS FOR LIFE!!!"

"RANAAAAAAAAA-"

Remus and Ana pulled away from the hug, both doubling over in laughter.

"5 years and they STILL ship us," wheezed Ana.

"By 'they', you mean the whole school," snorted Remus.

"I swear I saw Professor Sinistra handing a galleon to Professor Flitwick just now," said Ana, glancing around the corner. "Seriously. No lie."

Remus snickered. "Let's gooooooo. We'll be late for our next class."

Ana nodded. "Alright, Godzilla."

Remus blinked. "Godzilla?"

"You know- 'cuz you're a billion feet tall."

"For the last time, I am NOT 16 feet tall."

"Fine then... 6 feet, 3 inches," suggested Ana, weaving her way through the crowd.

"That's more reasonable," said Remus gratefully.

"Alright, then, 6' 3" dude. Let's hit the road."

Hope you guys enjoyed the chapter! :) thanks for all the reads!
