If you were to see one you would have probably thought they were either drunk or confused. For these Creatures were not normal. They struck people with such strangeness, it was impossible for them to even walk outside. They were distant relatives of the humans but not quite...human, to put it honestly. Still, they did not have all. Some of them were stupid and could not even talk, instead learning body language like wolves. Others were so smart there heads looked like they were going to explode. So much information stored in such a small place, how could they possibly survive.
Most people only saw Beauty. Others looked closer. Once you looked you could see the fine details on their faces. A moon or a star painted on by their ear. Or a tinkle of dust that flew of of their eyelashes every time they blinked. It was the dust that was so valuable. With the dust you could heal any wound. But there was a trick to this dust. If taken from the Creatures you need to extract it carefully. The procedure is very hard and complicated. Only a genius could finish it with no wound, the creatures don't like to be touched. That's why they stayed hidden and ran away from their homeland. They could not stand it if they were always being hunted by some evil genius or another.
One lady found a deserted house on the side of the road. All the people that passed that house could hear strange metal clinks of cutlery or machinery. The lady was never heard from again, most people say she died. Others say she's looking for her heir. Evil is afoot.
Of course this story wouldn't start with some sort of idea. Okay so, there are a type of people that resemble elves of some sort. However they are not elves, they are not short and they are not nice and they do not make toys! No, they are tall and graceful and they can make you feel as if your in another world. Of course it would be better if they didn't eat other magical beings or anything with a drop of magic in their systems.
They love the taste and the way magic feels on their tongues, how they can roll it around and smile at how amazing and new it is. The more they taste, the more they crave. In the end they can't do anything except hunt a game that will never finish. The game of life.
