It's a Definite Kind of Love (A Blackinnon Fanfiction)

written by Jui Weasley

Ever since that one kiss, something had changed between them. They were more comfortable with each other. They cared for each other (mostly... sometimes... 70% of the time... 60%...) They actually tried hard for each other. This is the story of Sirius Black and Marlene McKinnon. WARNING: There are mentions of violence in this story. How To Trick A Girl Into Going On A Date With You - By James Potter

Chapter 16

A/n: I am sooooooo sorry for updating late this week :( Here's another chapter to make it up for you :)

TW AND CW: Mentions of alcohol

Marlene dashed to her dormitory. She had lied about having Charms. Instead, Marlene took the time in her free period to flop onto her bed and brood about what she had said.

"Ok Marlene," she said to herself. "Calm down. Think non-anxious thoughts. Think food."

There was a knock on the door and footsteps. "Marlene?" called out Lily's voice. "Remus wants to talk to all of us in the common room. He says it's very important."

Marlene's eyes widened. Was Remus about to tell them all his deepest secret? No, she shouldn't stop him. It was his choice. But how would Alice and Lily react to this? "Coming!" she yelled out.

Marlene hauled herself out of the bed and ran down the stairs to the common room.

Remus, Peter, James, Alice, and Lily were all sitting in armchairs.

Sirius was lying on the ground, being an idiot as per usual.

James seemed to be trying to ask Lily out over and over again.

Remus and Alice were chatting with each other about classes, but Remus looked a little paler than usual. Maybe the full moon was approaching.

Peter was reading a Muggle book which seemed really interesting.

"Hi," said Marlene with a muffled voice, looking down at Sirius. "Remus, what did you wanna tell us?" she continued, now transferring her glance to look at Remus pointedly.

Remus gulped. "Ok, don't take this the wrong way. This is only new news to Lily and Alice."

Lily and Alice looked at each other and raised their eyebrows.

Remus gulped again. "Errr....."

Marlene sighed. "Oh, for Godric's sake, Remus. Just get on with it."

Remus bit his bottom lip tightly. "Marlene- can you do it? They're your best friends..."

Marlene shook her head. "Nope. You do it. It's your news."

Remus gulped yet again. "I'm- er- I'm a werewolf."

Marlene turned to Remus. "Not so hard, was that?"

But Remus wasn't looking at her. He was looking at Lily and Alice to see their reactions.

Remus turned even paler. "I thought you guys ought to know.

Alice suddenly ran up to him and gave him a great hug. "You should know that we don't care," she said quietly. "We all still love you the same."

James sniffled.

Lily turned to him. "Potter- are you crying?"

"N- no..." said James quickly. "I'm just cutting an invisible onion."

Lily giggled. "So... you guys already knew? Even Marlene?"

The Marauders and Marlene nodded.

"I'm not explaining how I know," groaned Marlene. "They don't need to know THAT."

"Ah, but my DEER Marlene," said Sirius, snorting quietly at his pun. "They should know the whole story."

"By the way, Lily, Slughorn's hosting a Christmas party. Do you wanna come with me," said James. "Or are you going STAG?"

Marlene looked like she was about to die.

Peter joined in the fun with, "Even if you go by yourself, Lily, I'm sure James will be DOGGING your steps wherever you go."

Marlene groaned again.

"Oh come on, Marlene," grinned Sirius. "Don't RAT us out."

Lily, Alice, and Remus were watching this scene in amusement.

"I give up," sighed Marlene. And she explained the whole story of walking in on the 'Werewolf Incident'.

After she was done, James stood up quickly. "Hey, Lily?" said James suddenly. "Come with me. I wanna show you something."

James dragged Lily out of the common room.

Peter yawned. "I'm gonna head in. G'night, guys."

"Night, Pete," said Remus, stretching and bidding them goodnight too.

Alice decided to go to bed, clearly noticing some obvious tension between Marlene and Sirius.

"So... erm..." said Sirius quietly. "About what you said earlier..."

Marlene pursed her lips, waiting for the blow, but it never came.

"You were right," continued Sirius.

Marlene looked at him.

"You WERE," said Sirius insistently. "I really DO love you."

He looked up at Marlene, waiting for her reaction. "You know what?" she said, with a warm smile. "I love you too."

The two seventh years looked at each other.

And the moment was ruined when Sirius lied down on Marlene's lap.

"Getting a little ahead of yourself, eh, Black?" smirked Marlene.

Sirius smirked back. "Forget that. Let's talk about Lily and James."

"Ooh," said Marlene, rubbing her hands together. "You think he's actually gonna ask her out?"

Sirius raised an eyebrow at her. "He's been asking her out for four years, Marls. He can do it again."

"Yeah," said Marlene. "But will she actually say yes?"

Sirius rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "This time seems different to me. I think she will say yes."

Before Marlene could say anything else to the matter, a certain redhead came into the common room with James lagging behind her.

"Going to bed," groaned Lily. "Don't stop me."

Marlene and Sirius exchanged a look.

"Is she hungover or something?" asked Sirius to James.

James rolled his eyes. "She's just being overdramatic. I asked her to Hogsmeade and she said yes."

"She's definitely drunk," said Marlene to Sirius.

"No, she isn't!" cried James. "I persuaded her with the charming stag to help me."

Marlene shook her head. "I'm out. My brain can't process this. Sirius, you deal with him."

"Don't leave me-" yelped out Sirius, but Marlene had already slammed the door behind her.

Sirius turned to James with a grin. "I am SO ruining your date."

James face blanched white. "No-"

Sirius, however, had run up to their dorm, with James DOGGING his footsteps.
