(Mattheo’s pov)

  She was on the ground, crumpled into a ball. I was so so so mad with my father right now and Thomas, she shouldn’t be going through this. Our lives were completely messed up. None of this ever happened to Thomas or me, why did they have to happen to Y/n? 

Thomas appeared at the doorway and started walking towards Y/n. I blocked him and disarmed him then pointed my dagger at his throat. We started arguing then Theodore shouted something. I tuned to see Y/n jumping off the tower.

(Y/n’s pov) 

I knew I wouldn’t die, my father didn’t want me to but I wanted to just for a second just know what falling felt like, knowing you wouldn’t die. It felt like flying just except the fact the ground kept coming closer and didn’t stop. I felt like I wasn’t in control of my life anymore, I wonder if anyone truly cared about me or if it was just for my power. Time seemed to slow down and speed up at the same time then I landed in Thomas’s arms. He put me down “What were you thinking?” 

“Why do you care? You don’t care for me anymore, you hurt me then say it’s father testing me but you didn’t go through this, Mattheo is not going through this, so why am I?” 

“I can’t explain it”

“Oh that's how it is these days, it’s almost as if you're under his complete control, did he curse you?” 

“No, trust me I hate doing this to you but I have to” He grabbed me and we were back on the astronomy tower. I pulled my hand back and started walking away. Mattheo stopped me.

“Don’t ever do that again” 

“Everyone just stop telling me what to do” 

(Thomas’s pov) 

She was angry now, I could see her eyes turning crimson. She waved her wand and I fell to the ground in pain, it was payback for what I did to her. I hated following fathers rules but I didn’t want to die or him to think any less of me. What I felt was worse than any cuse I had ever been put under. Her eyes turned black. I had only seen our father’s eyes turn black a couple times and it never was good. She was really angry plus dangerous. She waved her hands and Theodore, Mattheo and I all got flung to the walls. “Don’t tell me what to do” She left. I got up and was sore all over, it hurt like nothing I had ever experienced. I limped over to Mattheo and Theodore.

“Are you guys ok?” I asked 

“Oh, so your suddenly being nice” 

“I was never mean to you” 

“YOU TIED ME UP IN THE FOREST TO DIE!” He shouted “THAT'S BEING MEAN AND YOU HURT OUR SISTER MANY, MANY TIMES”

“I JUST DID IT TO STAY ALIVE” I shouted back 

“What do you mean?” Theodore asked 

“Father threatened to kill me if I didn’t do it and I would like to keep my life thank you very much” 

“But at what cost?” Mattheo asked “Huh?, what happened to Y/n and why are you limping, did you hit your leg?”

“Y/n wasn’t going to die, and she used the cruciatus curse on me” 

“And your limping, that doesn’t happen normally”

“It was stronger, her magic is getting stronger, darker” 

“And it’s your fault” Mattheo pushed me and I collapsed to the ground, I was weak. He stared at me with crimson eyes.

“Stop fighting” Theodore came in between us. 

(Theodore’s pov) 

I stopped them before someone ended up being killed. Thomas used the wall to help himself up, I could see he was in a lot of pain. I was a bit sore myself but I don’t think it even compared to what Thomas felt. Even if I hated him for doing what he did to Y/n, I knew he was telling the truth when he said if he didn’t do it he would be killed. I understood that he didn’t want to die, not a lot of people want to die. Mattheo left and I was alone with Thomas. “Are you sure you're ok?” I asked

“Yeah, I am totally fine” He replied

“Really?”

“No, it feels like I have 10 broken bones but I would know if my bones are broken and they aren't but it still feels like it. Are you ok?”

“I’m fine, you probably got hurt more because you were closer to her” I suggested 

“Yeah, probably” 

“Is there anything I can do?” 

“You want to help?” He asked 

“Yeah”

“Ok, come here” I walked over to him and he grabbed my arm and we disapparated. 

We were now in a big room, it must have been where he had been staying at night. He went over to a potion rack and grabbed one “Give this to Y/n, it will help her, I will take you to her balcony and then leave you two alone. If you don’t want to have to leave through the common room you can have Y/n contact me, if she wants” I nodded and he took me to her balcony then disappeared. The curtains were drawn, covering the windows and door. I knocked and 30 seconds later I saw her face poke out in between two curtains. She looked relieved when she saw it was me and unlocked the door. It swung open as she went to her bed. I came in and closed the door behind me. She eyed the potion in my hand. 

I handed it to her “Thomas asked me to give this to you, it helps” She looked at it like it was position “I can have some of it if you want me to test it” I offered 

“No, but do you trust him?” 

“I trust him” I nodded 

“Then I trust him” She opened it and drank the whole thing shaking her head like it had a bad taste. She blinked a couple of times and I saw the mark on her arm fading, she saw it too.

“How do you feel?” I asked

“Better, and tired” She stated “How did you get here?” 

“Thomas” I replied 

“Do you want me to tell him to pick you up or do you want to go through the common room?” 

“Whatever is easier for you” 

“Or I could make you fly to the astronomy tower” She said as an afterthought. She looked away and a moment later Thomas appeared in the room. “Thomas, you can take Theodore where he wants to go but then come back” He nodded his head then a second later I was on the astronomy tower. No one else was there. 

(Y/n’s pov) 

I wanted to hear what Thomas had to say. He returned and waited for me to start the conversation. “Water?” I asked. He looked skeptical but took the glass and drank most of it then put it on my desk “Put it on the coaster, I don’t want marks on my desk” He moved it “Explain why you did this” I asked

“Father threatened me with death if I didn’t do it” He explained “Plus he was always watching me” 

“Is he watching you now?” I asked

“No, I have done everything he asked, he said I was done now and I could go about my normal school life. I feel so so sorry about everything I did”

“Why was father testing me?” 

“He is thinking of making you a Death Eater sooner”

I nodded my head “One more question” 

“Yes?” 

“Why can Death Eaters apparate in Hogwarts but not others?” 

“You could if you tried hard enough and focused more” 

“Interesting, could you teach me?” 

“I don’t partially want to, I like being one of the few who can do it but also father would kill me” 

I smiled “Rude” 

He smiled as well and looked back at the water “You put veritaserum in the water, didn’t you?”
