Chapter 3
1. So Snape has made some bad choices in life, but he still saved Harry's life. He also tried to save Harry in the Sorcerer's Stone.
2. Dumbledore trusts Snape. He trusted Snape to murder him. He trusted him that when he died, to keep playing the double-agent role (which is really hard to do) and to help Harry out.
3. His affection for Lily Evans was transferred to Harry so she wouldn't have died in vain. No one truly bad likes Harry.
4. Professor Snape saved Dumbledore's life when he put on Marvolo's ring in the sixth book.
5. Dumbledore told Harry to wake up Snape and no one else when they got back form the cave in the sixth book.
