57. Stag and Doe

Chapter 57

 “This way!”

Oliver Wood called out to Katie Bell, Alicia Spinnet and Viktor Krum as the four flew over the Hogwarts castle on their broomsticks.

Meanwhile, those in the Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Astronomy Towers were fighting Delphini’s supporters left and right.

Up in the Astronomy Tower, Harry fought them front and centre, while trying his best to shield James, Hercules and Noel from the opponents’ attacks.

While Harry was preoccupied, Lorcan and Lysander had managed to find a cage full of Cornish pixies that went aggressively went after Delphini’s followers like a swarm of angry bees.

In the Gryffindor Tower, one of Delphini’s supporters hit a Sectumsempra that nearly hit Andrew, who luckily ducked in the nick of time.

Mrs Laird turned around swiftly, pointing her wand at the aggressor.

 “Crucio!”

Meanwhile, outside the castle, Madam Johnson, Charlie, Viktor, Oliver, George, Alicia, Katie, Dean, Ginny, Dominique, William and Rose, blasted Delphini’s supporters on their broomsticks, avoiding the Fiendfyre below.

On the grounds, Professors Davies and Greengrass, Hagrid, Arthur, Andromeda and Narcissa carried the injured to Madam Abbott and moved the dead bodies out of the Great Hall.

At the same time, Professors McGonagall, Flitwick, Slughorn, Molly, Lucius, Sirius, Bill, Fleur, Percy, Audrey, Ron, Teddy, Victoire, Louis, Lucy, her sister Molly, Daisy, Lily and Hugo battled Delphini’s supporters from every angle.

Professor Longbottom, Henry and Rolf hurled Mandrakes at Delphini’s followers while Dementors began making their way into the other side of the castle.

Luna, Ernie, Seamus, Albus and Scorpius drew their wands at once, looking around at each other; they knew exactly what to do.

 “Expecto Patronum!”

A shimmering silver hare, boar, fox, stag and doe, respectively, flew out of their wands, knocking out the Dementors.

Luna’s dreamy eyes lingered on the stag and doe that were flying midair.

“Is that-” Seamus’s jaw dropped to the ground.

“Are you two-?” Ernie asked, looking at Albus and Scorpius.

 Albus and Scorpius nodded, blushing.

 “We are,” Albus replied, smiling.

“We do,” Scorpius added, grabbing his hand.

Luna, Ernie and Seamus smiled at the young couple, as though nothing else mattered at that moment.

“We’re just like you,” Seamus said to them. “I met my husband while I was at Hogwarts. We were in Gryffindor together.”

“Same here, except my husband and I were in Hufflepuff,” Ernie’s expression changed, becoming somewhat solemn before he forced a smile again. “And we’re still together now.”

“Another Slytherin said some very rude stuff to us about our relationship before,” Albus said.

The three adults’ faces turned sweet to sour.

“Is it Alyssa Parkinson?” Seamus asked, leaning forward as if he was whispering.

 Scorpius nodded.

 “Her,” he said grimly.

“Listen,” Ernie said kindly. “Don’t listen to close-minded, ignorant people like Alyssa Parkinson; people like that are just bitter. I understand it hurts, but at the end of the day, their opinions don’t matter. The only thing that matters is that you two love each other and are happy.”

“Besides, you two really look great together,” Luna added, smiling. “You have a beautiful relationship.”

Albus and Scorpius smiled at them gratefully.

 “Thank you,” Albus said, blushing.

“It really means a lot to us,” Scorpius added.

A spell narrowly missed Scorpius, who dove into Albus’s arms in time, as the three adults hit another spell, protecting the youngsters.

“You lot!” someone shouted from a distance. “Enough with the chitter-chatter! We’re in the middle of a war!”
