The Unchosen One - A Harry Potter Story

When Marigold Lupin-Black, the daughter of Sirius Black and Remus Lupin, begins attending Hogwarts, she realises that pureblood supremacist ideologies still exist years after Lord Voldemort's defeat. The British wizarding world's fears come true once again when Delphini, the daughter of Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange, seizes the position of Minister for Magic to "make the wizarding world great again" by expelling Muggles, Muggle-borns, squibs and werewolves, separating them from witches and wizards. Will Marigold be able to follow in her idol's footsteps, end Delphini's reign of terror and prove herself a true hero?

Chapter 21

Later that day, Marigold and Scorpius told Andrew, James, Albus and Rose about the incident from earlier that day; they were just as shocked and angry to hear what Parkinson had done.

“She tried to do what?” James gasped. “Thank Merlin you blocked it before it hit you!”

“And I can’t believe she actually called you by those disgusting names!” Andrew screeched.

“So what happened to her?” Albus asked.

“Celeste told me that Professor Slughorn gave her detention for a month,” Marigold replied.

“Only a month?” James was astonished. “That slimy git deserves detention for the rest of the year!”

 “Or expelled!” Rose added.

Just then, they saw David coming towards them; he was crying, and there was a letter in his hand.

 “What’s wrong?” Andrew asked, concerned.

“I just got an owl from my parents,” David replied. “We were told by the Ministry to leave the country.”

“Not you too!” Andrew exclaimed as if she couldn’t believe it.

“You can’t be serious!” Marigold added.

“Where are you moving to?” James asked.

“My dad said that we’ll be moving to America,” David replied, sniffing.

“So will you be attending Ilvermorny?” Rose asked.

 David nodded.

“Today’s my last day here,” he said. “My parents are taking me home tonight, and we’ll be leaving in a few days.”

“I see,” Andrew said sadly. “We’ll miss you.”

“I’ll miss all of you so much,” David said; he hugged each one of his friends. “I’ll write to you while I’m gone.”

After they saw David leave on the Hogwarts carriage, Marigold and Andrew went up to the Gryffindor common room.

“I never thought Delphini would be evil enough to take our friend away from us,” Andrew said, his lips quivering.

“I know, I can’t believe it either,” Marigold said; she thought for a moment, then opened her mouth again. “But do you think our owls will make it all the way to America in time and back?”

 “What do you mean?”

“If we’re gonna communicate with David while he’s across the Atlantic, we need some other way besides owl,”

 “Like cell phones?” Andrew asked.

“What’s that?” Marigold asked. “Is that like a fellytone?”

“You mean telephone?” he chuckled. “Yeah, kinda. I assume you haven’t used one before?”

“Never, I’ve only used owls my whole life,” she replied. “And if it weren’t for Muggle Studies, I wouldn’t even have known what a felly- I mean, telephone, is.”

“Would you be interested in coming over to my house next summer?” Andrew asked. “My dad and I can teach you how to use a cell phone.”

“That sounds great!” Marigold said. “Let me write to my dads and Andromeda, and I’ll have Clover deliver it tomorrow morning.”
