Lumos is a wand-lighting charm. A light-creation spell, used to illuminate the top of the casters wand.
Nox is the counter-charm used to extinguish the light from the casters wand
wasnt invented until the 18th century and was first used publicly by levina monkStanley (she invented it in 1772) she used it to look for a fallen quill.
Garvun lügner,a German wizard, claimed to have been the one to invent it, While he was developing his instant darkness powder. it later was found out that ge was lying about it.
this spell is taught in first year defence classes and is detailed in the "dark forces:a guide to self-protection"
