Tess Falcon; First Year At Hogwarts {Finished Book}

written by Faye Chuchoter

Nonoahohay Falcon was not a normal person. Normal people aren't born with a wizard for a dad and a mermaid for a mum, witches that get invited to a magical school, get a wand at a wizarding shop, have a godmother that can change her looks at will, can't talk to snakes or are related to the greatest known Dark wizard of all time. Nonoahohay (or Tess) has no idea of the challenges and hardships she will face as she goes through her first year at Hogwarts.

The Harsh Truth

Chapter 17

I woke up from my dreamless sleep seeing Draco sitting by my bed, staring dreamily at me.  He realized I was awake and he blushed.  He stood up quickly and headed for the door.  "Wait!"  I said.  I had considerably healed.  I only had two scars on my face, and they were healing rapidly.  "Come back!  Please?"  Draco paused, then sat back down.  I asked him, "Why did you-"  Professor Dumbledore entered the hospital wing.  Madam Pomfrey ran out and said, "Professor Dumbledore!  Why are you here?"  He indicated me and said, "I will have to talk to Miss. Nonoahohay Falcon, please."  Draco stared at me.  Now it was my turn to blush.  He thought my name was Tess.

Madam Pomfrey said, "Why not later?  She needs here rest, and she'll be leaving the hospital wing today..."  Dumbledore shook his head.  "It's urgent.  May I?"  Madam Pomfrey said "Fine."  She turned on her heel and stormed away.  Dumbledore walked over to me and helped me out of my bed.  He waved his wand and the presents, treats, and get well cards vanished.  He said, "I transported them to your trunk.  You can get them tonight.  Follow me, please."  I followed him out of the hospital wing with Draco still in it.  I followed him to two gargoyles.  Dumbledore said, "Lemon Drop."  The gargoyles jumped aside and Dumbledore and I stepped on a stair behind the gargoyles.  It moved upwards, and I was facing a door, which Dumbledore opened.  He sat behind a desk, and I realized that this was his office.

I gulped.  What have I done?  I sat in a chair facing him and he spoke.  "This may be a shock, but you are no ordinary witch.  Voldemort, or you-know-who as some call him, has one brother.  He doesn't know it, but he does.  And his brother is your father."  I gasped.  He continued.  "Your mother is also Mrs. Weasley's sister, which makes you Voldemort's niece and your best friend's, Ginny's, cousin.  Are you with me?"  I nodded, gaping.  "So you are in much danger.  If Voldemort finds out he has a brother, he will target you and kill you.  I have been doing my best to stop him from knowing."

He stood up.  "Is there anything you'd like to tell me?"  I told him all about the dream I had with the serpent and the strange figure.  He said in a quiet whisper, "You can speak Parseltongue.  It's snake language.  Is there any other, ah, thing that you can do?"  I said, "Well, I can become a mermaid."  He sat down.  "What?"  I told him about my transformation and he said, "Well, that sometimes happens.  Nonoahohay-"  I said, "My name is Tess."  He stared.  "Oh, right.  My apologies.  Tess, your mother's a mermaid."
