Nucleus Of Wands

Chapter 2

NUCLEUS OF WANDS

Wands have cores made of magical materials. The Ollivander have a phoenix feather core, the unicorn or dragon heartstring fiber.

The following observations on the three main cores for wands used by Mr. Ollivander are taken from their own notes.

Early in my career, as I watched my father make wands and fighting with substandard materials for core as horse-hair the-Lake, I conceived an ambition to discover the finest cores and just work with them when my time came to take over the family business. That I did. After much research and experimentation, I concluded that only three substances are capable of producing rods of sufficient quality for me to give the illustrious name of Ollivander: unicorn hair, dragon heartstring and phoenix feather fiber. Each of these expensive and rare materials have their distinctive magical property. The following represent a small summary of my research of each Supreme Cores. Readers should bear in mind that each wand is composed of a wooden body and a nucleus, and get the experience of its owner. Trends of each should counteract or overcome the other; so this is just an overview of a very complex subject.

Unicorn

By The unicorn usually produces a more consistent type of magic, which is less subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn core are generally more difficult to use for the Dark Arts. Wands are the most reliable, and usually keep a strong connection with its first owner, irrespective of being a wizard or witch drive. Another disadvantage of the unicorn is that they do not make very strong wands (although the wood offset), as they may generate certain melancholy case are very battered, which means that the unicorn can 'die' and need replacing.

Dragon

As a rule, dragon heartstring fiber produces the most powerful wands, and are able to make more elaborate spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than those made of other objects. Once that has been taken from her master, it creates a strong bond of loyalty with its current owner. Dragon wands are better with Dark Arts, though she will not change willingly. This is also the three cores, the more prone to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.

Phoenix

This is the rarest of the nuclei. Phoenix feathers are capable of doing a wide variety of spells, though it slightly higher than the dragon or unicorn time to reveal it. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike. Phoenix feather wands are the most critical when it comes to future owners, and the creatures they choose are the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to personalize, and their allegiance is usually hard to conquer.
