The Maple Tree
Chapter 8
Today started out like any other, I am going to miss this routine so much! I woke up at 8 o’clock while everyone was getting out of their beds. I made breakfast and, like usual, Amanda Cooper and I made a To-Do for the day which looked like this:
GO TO GYM
GO ON WALK
GO TO THE LAKE
WATCH TV
GO TO POOL
GO TO SAUNA
Amanda Cooper did not want to go to the park but I begged to go,an action I wouldn't regret. We started off by going to the gym. We did a 1 hour cardiovascular workout. We were tired and sweaty after the workout, but despite our tiredness we decided to go on a walk in the park. When we arrived at the park everything seemed normal; kids were playing, dogs were running around, and adults were having conversations. We walked and walked until we were reaching the end of the park, where the maple tree was. I was too indulged in a conversation about the best food to even look at the maple tree. But as Amanda Cooper and I were conversing over food we heard a little rustling of leaves on the maple tree, which made me look. As I looked at the tree I saw something that I have been waiting to see this whole trip. For under that beautiful maple tree I saw my two parents.
