Gilderoy Lockhart

Chapter 4
Gilderoy Lockhart

Have you ever wondered how Gilderoy Lockhart was brought up? How he became such a famous wizard? Well, this article will answer those questions.
Early Life:
Gilderoy Lockhart was born to a witch mother and a Muggle father and had two older sisters. Gilderoy was the only sibling to show any magical ability. He was his mother’s favorite and was clever.
School:
Lockhart had expected to be walking down the corridors to exciting talks of his magical prowess, so when he had arrived at Hogwarts he was disappointed. Lockhart was to him a fully-fledged hero and genius and was shocked to learn that his name was unknown. In a wizarding world article, they had noted, “ Lockhart told anyone who would listen that he would succeed in making a Philosopher’s Stone before leaving school and that he intended to captain England’s Quidditch team to World Cup glory, before knuckling down to becoming Britain’s youngest Minister for Magic,” this helps show the aspirations that young Lockhart had had while at Hogwarts. Lockhart was later sorted into Ravenclaw house and soon began achieving good marks in his schoolwork. During his time at Hogwarts, he had sent himself eight hundred Valentine’s cards each year.
Post-Hogwarts Career:
When Lockhart had left Hogwarts, he began to gain publicity. He traveled the world, finding people who had committed great deeds and had taken their credit by modifying their memories. Within a decade of leaving school, Lockhart had been given bestseller status of his series of autobiographical books. He had received Order of Merlin, Third class, became an Honorary member of the Dark Force Defence League, and had achieved Witch Weekly’s Most-Charming-Smile award five times in a row.
