Charm 1st year

In this book I am going to publish all my 1st year charm notes. This book is not a substitute for lessons. English is not my first language so it is very likely that I have some spelling and grammar mistakes. If you don't like this, I don't recommend that you read it. If you don't mind let's get started. P.D: I will update every Friday

Week 1 (Introduction)

Chapter 1
BRIEF HISTORY AND ESSENTIAL LAWS.

One of the first cases of wand making is that of the Ollivander family (382 BC), which is one of the first and the longest. Before they started making wands there was a fear that it would fail or explode.

Around 1000 AD, the wizarding world began to separate from that of the Muggles. Approximately 400 years it was governed by the Council of Sorcerers and after this several governments were established that today we see as a Ministry of Magic.

The separation of these two worlds was because in the 17th century Muggles began to hunt down wizards and witches and try to kill them. Those problems caused the International Statute of Secrecy in 1689 to separate the two worlds. The law was created to protect magical and non-magical communities from each other and each government was responsible for concealing all evidence of magic, including magical flora and fauna. This law was signed in 1689, but it was officially established 3 years later.

In case there is an incident too big to ignore or too much evidence of magic, the Ministry will dispatch an Accident Magic Investment Squad to figure things out.

Another important rule is that anyone under the age of 17 cannot perform magic outside of school unless her or a classmate's life is in danger. This law was established in 1875.

The primitive wand were little more than a hippogriff feather wrapped around a stick, but eventually the most effective of the bulbs, the modern wand, was created.

The modern wand is a wooden shaft that contains a core of a powerful magical creature. This allows us to focus and channel our power.
