Chapter 1
~Amber's pov.~
I take a deep breath and clutch my suitcase handle. I walk out into the sun. I'm just leaving the foster care center. I see a sleek black car waiting for me. I stand there shocked. The window rolls down and I see a red-haired woman. "Climb in. I'm taking you to your dad." She smiles and I slowly walk up. I put my suitcase and bags with me in the back. "So you excited to meet your dad??" She asks trying to make conversations. I stare out the window ignoring her. She realizes I'm not in the mood. "You know he never knew about you, right??"
I turn my head. "What??" I lean up to the front. "How did he not know??" I start getting mad and she goes tense. Like she's ready for a battle. Odd. "Your mom never told him about you till they contacted us." She explains trying to soothe me out of my mad state. We stop talking for the rest of the time. We pull up to this huge tower. It has an 'A' on the side. Then it hits me. "Wait do I live here??"
She smiles at my curiosity. "Yep. Welcome to your new home!!" She pulls up and parks in the garage. She grabs my bag and I pull my suitcase. We walk in and right away I'm blown away. Then I see him. My dad. He smiles and tears brim my eyes. "Hi, Amber." I run to him and hug him. He hugs back then leans away to look at me. He brushes my hair behind my ear. Then he frowns when he sees my scar behind my ear. "What happened??"
I look down and back away. "Fights." He looks shocked then he reaches out for me. I walk farther back until I hit the Red-Haired woman. "I'll take her to her room, Steve." I let her lead me up the stairs. She opens a door to a huge room. I have a bed with white blankets and a huge TV. I walk into the bathroom and there is a shower and a bathtub separate.
The counter has marble and it's big!! I gasp in shock. With living in foster care for so long it's overwhelming to have all this to myself.
"I know it's a lot to take in so I'll let you be by yourself for a while. And if you need anything I'll be downstairs with Peter, Thor, and Steve." She leaves and closes the door. I start unpacking then I see a picture of me and mom. I go on my soft bed and start crying. "I wish I was with you mom..." I put the picture on my nightstand and turn on the TV. I drift off but wake up to a knock on my door. I open and find see...
