Luna is well-known for all of the strange objects that she has. She claims that they all have different purposes, but some of them seem a little useless. For example, Luna has a pair of what she calls  "Spectrespecs". They may just look like funny sunglasses, but they have a purpose. Luna believes that she can see wrackspurts through them. Wrackspurts are supposedly invisible creatures that float into your ears, and make your brain go fuzzy. Luna can also occasionally be seen wearing a butterbeer cork necklace. This may confuse many people, but it actually keeps nargles away.

Luna wears some things that don't even have a purpose, and make less sense than her other creations. For example, she is almost always seen in a pair of radish earrings. Why does she wear them? Who knows. In her fifth year at Hogwarts, Luna created a lion hat that roared whenever she tapped it with her wand. She created this just for a quidditch game, to show her support for Griffindor. 

So, whether it is a pair of spectrespecs, or a giant roaring lion hat, Luna is always seen with a strange gadget.
