Bellatrix Lestrange (Biography)

Chapter 8
Bellatrix Lestrange

Bellatrix Lestrange, née Black, is a Death Eater committed to Voldemort's service. She fought alongside him during the two wars which shook the magical community and distinguished herself by the violence and cruelty of her acts, building herself a reputation to be feared. She deeply believes in the purity of blood and the supremacist values of Death Eaters, but above all draws the strength of her convictions from her boundless fanaticism for her master Voldemort. It will be said, later, that she loved him in secret.

Bellatrix is a tall woman, with heavy eyelids and a strong jaw, with thin lips spreading an arrogant and disdainful smile. Her long, thick black hair is shiny, messy and unkempt.

Like her cousin Sirius, she retains great beauty, but it seems Azkaban took her beauty from her, making her face emaciated, skull-like, without wringing a feverish, fanatic glow from her. Her voice remains harsh and dry.

Bellatrix is characterized by her dementia and sadism. She is unconditionally fascinated by the forces of evil and by her master, Voldemort, whom she loves in secret. Satisfying him is his greatest desire, while disappointing him is his greatest fear. In terms of torture, Bellatrix shows a particularly perverse and dangerous ingenuity. She is totally lacking in reason, she is above all guided by madness and even appears to be uncontrollable for many.
