Chapter One
Chapter 1
Dear Diary,
As this is the first time of me writing in here,I'm going to tell you a little about myself. I'm Laura, Princess Laura; Queen Clara's Daughter. Dad. Such a nice word isn't it? Well , I wasn't lucky enough to live with one. My dad passed away , 12 years ago , when I was 5 years old. My friends say dad's are kinda annoying. But you realize the importance of one , when you don't have one. Now , Enough of the tragic stuff. Moving on, I grew up , without any flaw. I had everything I ever wanted. Yet I always wanted more. My mom never allowed me to go to the slums so one day when I was eight, I disguised myself as a poor girl and I went to the slums. You don't want to hear about the slums at that time. The houses were rickety structures made of Bamboo sticks and haphazardly spread cloth awnings. The cramped space between the wobbly houses served as the "streets" on which people walked through the slums. These streets also served as open drains and open air animal shelters.They were covered with trash. There was muck everywhere! A thin film of mud made it worser. I covered my nose and mouth with a handkerchief, fascinated and appalled at the same time. People actually live like this? May Jesus be merciful. I thought. A group of robbers were following me. Now I understood why my mom never allowed me to come here. I ran deeper into the slums. The robbers weren't following me anymore! Then I turned around. I'd seen enough of the slums for my first trip. I had got a map with me. Just in case. I went back to the castle. I took a shower and never told my mom about this. That day I realized that many people Don't even have proper food to eat , I realized that I should be happy with what I have. My mom's calling for an important reason. I hope she never finds this diary. Anyway , Bye diary!
