I ran through the halls, heading outside, tears streaming down my face. I knew that I would be in big trouble for disturbing the meal but I couldn’t care less. I needed fresh air and space from all of the whispers that had been floating around me.
Once outside, I relaxed and listened to the peaceful sounds of birds chirping and the wind blowing. I found a bench and took a seat on it, looking up and the sky watching the clouds roll by.
“Ms. Malfoy,” I heard a cold voice say. I turned to see Professor Snape coming to me looking sternly.
“Professor Snape, I’m so sorry for disrupting dinner. I don’t know what came over me. I accept any punishment you think is worthy of my outburst,” I said, standing up.
“While you shouldn’t have done what you did in the Great Hall, I won’t give you detention, although I strongly suggest refraining from doing anything like that again. I’ll see you in class tomorrow,” Snape responded.
“Thank you, Professor. I won’t do it again.”
He nodded before turning sharply away and heading back inside. I stayed outside for about an hour before someone came out and found me. I was surprised to see Blaise coming towards me instead of one or both of my siblings.
“How much trouble did you get in?” Blaise asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Surprisingly none. Everyone’s still talking about me aren’t they?”
He nodded, “Yep. It’s not every day something like that happens.”
I sighed and looked down at my hands, “How mad is Draco and how worried is Talia?”
“Talia has been pacing in the common room waiting for you to come up to the dorms, and Draco is looking everywhere for you. He made me and Pansy go and look for you. Surprisingly I found you first.”
I grinned for the first time since dinner, “How’d you manage that?”
“I had a sixth sense that told me that you’re probably outside.”
Now it was my turn to raise an eyebrow, “A sixth sense?”
He grinned, “I come out here too when things get too much. It’s way more peaceful than sticking around your brother.”
I laughed, “I should probably face him and Tal soon, huh?”
“That’s not a bad idea.” He offered me his hand, and pulled me up, before leading me towards the Slytherin dorms. Walking into the common room, I was almost immediately slapped by my sister.
“THAT IS FOR RUNNING OUT OF THE GREAT HALL LEAVING DRACO AND I SICK WITH WORRY!” Talia cried.
I bowed my head, “I’m sorry.”
“For the millionth time Lyra, don’t say sorry,” Talia rolled her eyes.
“Slap her any harder and she’ll be flying to the moon,” Blaise muttered.
Talia and I looked at each other and burst out laughing. We had our own joke that one day that would happen.
“LYRA BREE MALFOY!” Draco yelled walking into the common room.
“RIP to me,” I muttered, turning around to face him.
