The world suddenly quieted.
There was no sound.
It was just silent.
I couldn't see hardly anything, either.
All around me there was just a soft, golden-green blur.
I remembered what I had to do.
But I didn't know what to say.
For a long time I just stood there.
Lost.
But then I remembered Silvereye's words.
Silvereye is right, I thought.
More than anything, I want a family.
And then it came to me.
I want to have a family, I thought, or maybe I said it - I don't know which.
I want to join the pack.
And then a hum began, and in the hum I was almost certain I heard the words,
You are a moon child.
And then everything went black.
There was no sound.
