The Ticking Clock Part 2
Cynthia stared up at the grandfather clock. It’s ticking was the most mysterious thing. Cynthia turned the clock around, slowly. She grabbed the screwdriver that lay by the clock for repairs. Cynthia opened up the back of the clock and looked inside.
Nothing was amiss. Every single gear was in its place, everything was connected, there was nothing jammed in the clock anywhere. This was very strange considering the volume of the ticking. Speaking of the ticking, it had stopped.
Cynthia was astonished. Nothing had changed inside the clock. She put the clock and the screwdriver back. She made sure the clock was in the right spot. Cynthia started down the hallway, ready to go somewhere else, away from this strange and unusual clock. As Cynthia stepped away, the ticking began once again, louder and faster than ever before!
