Always

written by Echo Jayden Hart

Sky Diggory. That's the name. Diggory? Like Cedric Diggory? Yep. I'm his little sister. Always falling into the background as my brother becomes more and more popular. Because of my sickly state when I got my letter at 11, I stayed at home, and mom and dad taught me to control my magical powers while Ced was away at Hogwarts. Only saw him again during the summer then he was gone again. Stories about school came to me by owl and I read them with jealously then sent a letter back. I loved my brother don't get me wrong but I was sick of him being in the center of attention while all I had was Bolt, my Patronus, an Irish Wolfhound, and our parents. I had 2 friends. My teachers didn't like me for some reason. Okay, I'll admit there is a reason. Livius and I were always casting spells while everyone was supposed to be studying. WE WERE STUDYING! Just not what the teachers wanted us to be studying in class. I was good to go to Hogwarts while Cedric was in his fifth year but what does life do? Throws another obstacle my way. Yay...

Chapter 7
“So what are they like?” Hermione asked as Luna sat down at their table in the grand hall.
“And where are they?” Ron added.
“How are they doing?” Harry questioned.
“Sky, Nova, and Livius are the three that I met and gave a tour for. Nova and Sky are close and really nice. Livius I feel like could be a prankster but is also a nice person. Nova is excited, Sky is nervous, Livius is both. Sky looks nothing like her brother. She has sky blues eyes, hence her name and pink hair. Apparently, before it was dyed it was blond. She is sweet and thoughtful like her brother and is wearing the gold necklace we helped Ced pick out for her. Unlike Cedric she has glasses and pierced ears,” Luna replied. “They are waiting outside for the other two students to arrive before they all come in, and get sorted into their houses.”
“I wish there was a way for us to say hi to settle their nerves a bit,” Harry sighed.
“They’ll be okay and we can wave to them when they walk in. Harry haven’t you met Sky before?” Luna said.
Harry nodded, “I went to visit Ced during the summer two years ago. Sky was out a lot but I met her and we talked a bit. She seemed like a nice kid but hated the fact that she couldn’t attend Hogwarts until she was better.”
“Better?” Ron questioned as Hermione raised an eyebrow.
“She was born way too early and was really sick for a good 10 years of her childhood. She is still prone to sickness but is doing way better now and was given the good to go from her doctor and her parents about a year ago right before Cedric died. When I talked to her she had told me how she couldn’t wait to come to Hogwarts like her brother. But when Ced died, her parents kept her home until she knew enough defensive spells to protect herself. And I guess she is finally good to come,” Harry explained. Even though he and Cedric hadn’t been the best of friends, Harry had promised Cedric that if Sky ever did come to Hogwarts and for some reason or another Cedric wasn’t there to help her that Harry, himself would help her with anything she needed.
“Oh, that sucks,” Hermione said, softly.
“Here they come now,” Ron nodded to the doors that had just opened.
“That’s her, the one with the pink hair,” Draco said, to Pansy, who did not look happy.
The head’s of Luna, Harry, Ron, and Hermione snapped over to the table where Draco and his friends sat.
“How could Draco know Sky?” Hermione asked worriedly.
“The three of them ran into Draco on the Express,” Luna responded. “If they come to sit here after I’ll ask Sky to explain their encounter.”
“Speaking of Sky…”
