Always

written by Echo Jayden Hart

Sky Diggory. That's the name. Diggory? Like Cedric Diggory? Yep. I'm his little sister. Always falling into the background as my brother becomes more and more popular. Because of my sickly state when I got my letter at 11, I stayed at home, and mom and dad taught me to control my magical powers while Ced was away at Hogwarts. Only saw him again during the summer then he was gone again. Stories about school came to me by owl and I read them with jealously then sent a letter back. I loved my brother don't get me wrong but I was sick of him being in the center of attention while all I had was Bolt, my Patronus, an Irish Wolfhound, and our parents. I had 2 friends. My teachers didn't like me for some reason. Okay, I'll admit there is a reason. Livius and I were always casting spells while everyone was supposed to be studying. WE WERE STUDYING! Just not what the teachers wanted us to be studying in class. I was good to go to Hogwarts while Cedric was in his fifth year but what does life do? Throws another obstacle my way. Yay...

Chapter 6
“Sky, wake up. We’re here!” Livius said, shaking me awake.
“Huh?” I muttered, groggy from sleep.
“WE’RE HERE, SKY! WAKE UP! WE HAVE A TEST TO TAKE!” Nova exclaimed.
That woke me up. I bolted upright not even thinking about how I feel asleep on Livius’ shoulder. Normally that would make me go beet red but for now, I was too worried about the test to even care.
I followed Nova out the compartment, and with Livius following behind us we hurried to get to the Head’s office to take the test. Butterflies swarmed my stomach as I took the test. I wanted to do the best I possibly could so I took my time. I knew Nova and Livius were doing the same. When we handed them in it was the afternoon and classes were over. We got a tour of the school and then were told to change into our formal outfits before we head over to the great hall to get dinner, sorted into our houses, and introduced to the rest of the student body.
I changed into a velvet green dress my mom gave me. There was a slit in the skirt of the dress so it wasn’t too tight on me and I could walk. I put on the gold locket Cedric gave me for my 11th birthday. Inside of it was a picture of me and him smiling our faces off right after I got my first letter. I slipped on my golden heart earrings my mom gave me before I left home and the gold ring dad gave me. I pulled on my black strappy heels before smiling to myself and making sure my eyes weren’t purple.
I stepped out of the room that Luna Lovegood had told me to change in and gasped when I saw Nova in her formal outfit. Nova was wearing the necklace that her parents had given her when she was 12 and hadn’t taken it off since. She was also wearing a lavender slip dress and ballet flats.
“NOVA YOU LOOK STUNNING!” I exclaimed.
“I feel miserable,” Nova grumbled, turning around.”Woah! Why don’t you dress up more often? YOU look stunning!”
I laughed, “Jeans and hoodies are much more comfortable but unlucky me has a skirt to wear for my uniform.”
“Bahahaha, I get to wear jeans!” Nova grinned.
“Can I do your hair?” I asked.
“Okay.” I took some of her hair and braided it into a waterfall braid while we waited for Livius.
“Woah,” A voice behind us gasped. We turned to see Livius staring at us with his mouth wide open.
“Huh, I hear Livius’ voice but I don’t see him,” I said.
“That’s weird,” Nova said, catching on. Luna began laughing as Nova and I looked around the room, searching for him.
“Livius? Where are you?” Nova called.
“Right here, you blind-”
“MARCOOOOO,” I called, cutting him off.
He rolled his eyes and called, “Polo.”
“FOUND HIM!” Nova exclaimed, pointing at a picture on the wall that looked like Livius but a tab bit different.
“That is actually a picture of your father, Nova,” Luna grinned.
“Oh… That’s kinda creepy. Dad’s watching u- EKKKK!” Nova squealed. Livius had crept up behind her and hugged her, surprising Nova who almost cast a spell on him. “Hey, Sky! I found him.”
“Woah, Livius you look… different,” I said, staring at him.
“Good, different, or bad?” He asked.
“I don’t know yet.”
“You’re just looking for an excuse to stare at me longer,” Livius smirked.
I felt my face grow warm and punched his shoulder.
“Okay are you guys ready to meet the other two students that are new and then face the great hall?” Luna asked.
“Ready as I’ll ever be,” Livius responded.
“Let’s go!” Nova exclaimed.
I just nodded, feeling the nerves already.
