Always

written by Echo Jayden Hart

Sky Diggory. That's the name. Diggory? Like Cedric Diggory? Yep. I'm his little sister. Always falling into the background as my brother becomes more and more popular. Because of my sickly state when I got my letter at 11, I stayed at home, and mom and dad taught me to control my magical powers while Ced was away at Hogwarts. Only saw him again during the summer then he was gone again. Stories about school came to me by owl and I read them with jealously then sent a letter back. I loved my brother don't get me wrong but I was sick of him being in the center of attention while all I had was Bolt, my Patronus, an Irish Wolfhound, and our parents. I had 2 friends. My teachers didn't like me for some reason. Okay, I'll admit there is a reason. Livius and I were always casting spells while everyone was supposed to be studying. WE WERE STUDYING! Just not what the teachers wanted us to be studying in class. I was good to go to Hogwarts while Cedric was in his fifth year but what does life do? Throws another obstacle my way. Yay...

Chapter 12
Owls flew in from every direction, landing everywhere and dropping letters. This first year's students jumped back still a bit surprised when Owls swooped over their heads.
“You think they’d be used to it after a couple of months of this every morning,” Luna laughed, watching the first years.
“But they’re not,” Harry grinned.
I lifted my arm to let one owl land on my hand before taking the letters and smiling, “Thank you.”
Hermione, Nova, and Livius all received a letter while Ron, Harry, and Luna finished off their plates.
A letter fell in front of Harry surprising him.
“Who could that be from?” Ron asked, lifting an eyebrow.
Harry just shrugged in response. I skimmed through my two letters. One was from my mom saying that they wouldn’t be home for Christmas and explaining to me what had happened when she was sorted into her house at Hogwarts when she was 11.
“Hey, guys listen to this. My mom said that when she came to Hogwarts she was sorted into Ravenclaw and Slytherin. They let her choose and she chose Ravenclaw. But apparently, my uncle on my mom's side was sorted into Gryffindor. So my parents think I just take after the whole family when it comes to the house sorting,” I said.
“Woah! That’s so cool!” Nova exclaimed.
“I guess it does make sense for you to be sorted into all the houses then,” Hermione smiled.
“You should have chosen Gryffindor,” Ron muttered.
“RON! It was her choice!” Hermione cried, slapping him with her letter.
“What did your letter say, Mione?’ Luna asked, distracting her from hitting Ron.
“My parents are ready for Christmas in Paris. So I guess I’m staying here for the holidays.”
“So are we,” Livius spoke up and Nova nodded.
“And I,” I added.
“See? We’ll all be together for Christmas!” Harry grinned.
“That should be interesting,” Luna muttered.
“What did your other letter say Sky?” Nova asked.
“Nothing,” I replied but to myself I was thinking the opposite. I need to talk to Harry, alone.
