Peeves Magical Hallowe’en Mystery (Magical puzzles)
We are having a new series of articles! It’s called Magical Puzzles. It will be a magical puzzle in an article! This will be continued every two weeks, so make sure to stay tuned for the magic! Today we have an escape room! In this special edition we are close to celebrating Hallowe’en! This article will test your knowledge, and abilities! Here’s what happened.
You and your friends are in the Transfigurations classroom after a long day of searching for your lost textbook. It’s getting dark, you will be late for the Halloween epic feast. Finally after searching the halls, and classrooms one of your friends finds the textbook sticked to the window. Odd situation. You search hours for a book you need to study, for a super important test, and it suddenly appears in the Transfigurations classroom’s window? Quite suspicious.
“Well, that’s life.” You think. “You never know what will happen next.” You quickly unstick the textbook, and grab it.
“That is correct! Hehehehehehe! You never really know what will happen!” A voice cackles. Suddenly the doors, and exits of the classroom close! You know who the voice is, it’s too predictable!
“Peeves! Show yourself! What are you doing!?” One of your friends shouts.
In a quick flash Peeves appears. He has a gigantic terrible smile.
“Peeves explain yourself!” You shout.
“Such bad manners. No, no, no. You have fallen into my annual Hallowe’en trap! It consists of several tricks, and traps! You have to escape! But you sure won’t! Hahahahaha” he cackled again, dancing over you, and your friends’ heads.
“What does that even mean?!” Your friend asks in despair.
“You need some education. You poor children don’t know anything! You will stay here, until you devise a way to escape. Meanwhile I will watch, and laugh! It’s so much fun! At least for me! For you it should be quite miserable, since you could stay here for a very long time.”
“Please Peeves. Let us go.” You attempt.
“Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, naaaaah!” He swiftly flies away from you, and makes himself invisible.
“Oh well. I guess we’ll have to figure it out. Let’s see what we have in the classroom.”
After a while of searching, you and your friends stumble across the traps, revealing the true challenge. You recollect the following information, the key to escaping.
1. Peeves has taken your wands, so there’s no Alohomora out of this one.
2. The classroom door is locked.
3. The windows can’t be opened.
4. There is no way to call for help, you have to figure it out yourself.
5. The door is guarded by a ferocious Chomping Cabbage, that will attack anyone who tries to open the door.
6. The door has a small gap at the bottom.
7. You find half a sandwich behind a chair.
8. You also find a cauldron that a student used spongify on it.
9. A single unicorn lock rests by the window.
10. There’s a Shrivelfig behind the Professor’s desk.
11. Five slimy caterpillars rest in a table.
12. Four rat spleens are in a desk.
13. A daisy root is by the window.
14. The Professor left a leech in the desk.
15. You will get your wand when your outside of the classroom.
16. You find a knife, inside of a cauldron.
17. By the desk there’s a candle, and a bucket of water.
18. You, and your friends must get out unharmed.
19. After escaping you have to return to your normal physical form, if you changed it.
