Chapter 9
“The Ticking Clock” - Part One
Cynthia walked through the hallway of the old house. The floorboards creaked beneath her feet, sending erie echos through the empty house. She passed the old grandfather clock, and heard its persistent ticking noise. Cynthia went into the bedroom at the end of the hallway and lie down on the bed. She listened to the small noises around her.
Then she heard the grandfather clock. It was ticking louder and louder, faster and faster, until it was all Cynthia could hear. She stood up and walked down the hallway, curious to know what was going on. She kept walking until she stood in front of the great, old grandfather clock.
