*Hermione's point of view*

We had arrived at the castle! I had read all about Hogwarts, but was still so nervous! One of the professors told us all about the sorting and the houses, but I already knew all that. My eyes drifted off to Draco. He gave me a small smile and I smiled back. "They are ready for you," the professor said. This was it! I could feel my heart pounding as we walked into the Great Hall. I looked up at the bewitched ceiling. It was marvelous! After a short song, they started calling kids up. "Granger, Hermione!" They called out. I gulped and walked up. As the hat was placed on my head, I could see Draco watching me. "Hmmm you would make a good Ravenclaw, but there is something else in there. Oh well... GRYFFINDOR!" It yelled. I walked to the red and gold table and was surrounded by the other Gryffindors. I sat down and looked over at Draco. He seemed sad. I smiled at him and he gave me a small smile. "Malfoy, Draco!" they called. He walked up and no shorter than a second, the hat cried out, "SLYTHERIN!" He grinned and headed to the green and silver table.
