"The Man" on the radio

The Story
Chapter 1
A recently married couple were on a long road trip through the heart of the United States. One night it was raining hard and the headlights of their car flashed across a bearded man on the side of the road hitchhiking. Not usually one for picking up hitchhikers, the husband stopped and pulled over to offer the guy a lift because the weather was so bad. The man thanked the husband and climbed in the back of the car. He seemed agitated and edgy, barely speaking a word for the whole journey. Eventually the couple dropped him off where he asked, at a crossroads. The rain was still coming down in sheets.
The couple drove on for a good while and, to pass the time, the husband turned on the radio. The couple heard a news report about an escaped lunatic, considered very dangerous, who should not be approached under any circumstances. The description matched the hitchhiker and the couple looked at each other, clearly shocked, but happy nothing bad had occurred.
Just then the car gave out, and no amount of keying the ignition would make it start again. The husband tells his wife to stay in the car while he sets off through the rain to try and get help. The woman locks the doors and wants to listen to the radio, but the car battery seems dead. Eventually she doses off.

The husband comes back into the car after a while to give the bad news. He explains that after 15 minutes of looking for help no one was around. The wife realized he sounded very frightened, so she asked him what he had seen. The husband replied that the reason there was no one to help was because everyone was dead. The wife gasped. She went to close the door, but it was too late anyway because the same man appeared right next to the window causing the couple to jump out of fear.
The Wife screams as the man opens the car door and holds her by the neck up in the air. The husband attempts to pull her, but he is also too late. The man starts talking and saying how he never got someone who loved him as much as the husband loved the wife. He smiled at her and she looked away as best as she could searching for her husband’s eyes. Suddenly the husband does what everyone least expected. With a special kind of patience, he put the chair back and took out a boomerang.
The man looked very much confused and the next thing the husband did was smirk at him and explain that he will cut him with the weapon if he does not let the wife go immediately. The man chuckles and suddenly has the evilest look that he has worn so far. The wife starts gasping for air when she is dropped a couple 3 feet to the ground. She falls unconscious and the husband gasps. He aims the boomerang at the dude.
The husband drops to the ground and picks his wife up making sure she will be okay. He carries her as fast and carefully as he can as far as possible. They live happily ever after for 3 years and one day the wife asks how they got out of there alive since she forgot the majority of what happened. The husband explains that the toy boomerang that he had bought for there coming little boy was thrown at the man’s head. There is a knock at the door and the little boy runs to answer the door. When she turns her head, they are sure she has seen a ghost. The boy says “Mama? Is that- “. THE END.
