The next day I got an invitation for Alex's Wedding. "That's how I was supposed to find out!?!?!?! A stupid invitation!" I yelled at Alex. I stormed out of the hotel room.

I did go to the wedding, I did see Alex get married. What I didn't see was His reaction. This is how it went.

"Hey, congrats" I texted him after.

Alex: Hey, thx!
John: np
Alex: what's up?
John: Listen to a Thousand years, that's up.

Eliza looked over at the phone and read the texts. That was her favorite song, so she knew the words and what the text meant. "Brb" Alex said. He went on youtube and listened. He went over to talk to me, but Eliza held onto his arm.

"Oh, hey" I said, looking at Eliza.

"John," Alex started to say before Eliza did something that made me change my mind about life.

She slapped me so hard I almost fell over. I felt where she had slapped me. I looked from Alex to Eliza. I turned and walked away. As soon as I was out of sight, i started to run, out of the building and out into the bustling street. There were cars whizzing past. I looked back and saw Alex running.

I closed my eyes and stepped forward.


I looked down at myself. I saw blood spilling out of my face, bruises and marks all over my arms.

I looked over and saw Alex dialing a number in his phone. He was crying. I went over to him and put my arm around him.

He looked over. I was barely visible, but he saw me. I took my arm away and held his hand.

"J-John" Alex said crying.

"I'm here"
