Sparks Fly? - Hermione P.O.V
Chapter 7
“So your friends still hate me?” Malfoy says snapping me out of my trance. I have watched Harry and Ginny go, wishing I could go with them instead of sit her with Draco Malfoy of all people!
“They don’t haate you...” I say. I am not big in lying, but stretching the truth I can do. Well, maybe this is a teeny, tiny lie... it’s harmless.
“Yeah right!” Malfoy says, stretching out on the seat. I can see his abs through his shirt and stare at them for a moment, before I catch myself.
“Well... I guess they do hate you.”
“Figured. I mean the war...” I had never spoken this many words to Draco Malfoy since, well since ever! I look at Malfoy again.
His face is in his hands, but there’s something about him. He seems... he seems harmless, and timid.
“Malfoy...” I say “the war wasn’t your fault. You couldn’t stop them.”
“But I should have tried,” he says shaking his head which is now resting back in the headrest, his eyes closed. “I should have tired. I was the bad guy.” He rubs his hand over his eyes, “A coward. A complete coward.”
“M-Malfoy, you weren’t”
“All I want is a second chance, a chance to do good and make friends. But I think no one will let me have one.”
“I will Malfoy. Since we’ll be toghether a lot with our duties, I will give you one.”
“Thanks... Granger” he says
I am so in shock at the use of this new tone of voice with me, that sounds almost nice, from this... monster. Well former monster, that is. I almost miss what he says next.
“Magonagall told us we were sharing the room of requirements as a dorm... the head boy and head girl sweets got ruined in the war. Useless repairing them.”
“G-got it.” Just what I need, a whole year with Malfoy. Wait, new and improved Malfoy. Maybe this won’t be too bad?
