Are you interested in writing news articles? Do you read the Daily Prophet cover to cover every day? Do you want to tell people about events that are important to you? Then join Hogwarts Daily News! You will start out as an intern and work you way to the top where you may get to become part of the official group. It’s fun and gives you something to do on a rainy Saturday afternoon when you’ve finished your homework. There are a ton of great people involved and you can (and will at some point) get published. Knockturn Alley and Diagon Alley
Knockturn Alley and Diagon Alley are a very incredible group of shops. On this article we will go into depth about there differences and similarities. Who doesn’t love a trip to Diagon Alley. It’s streets full of magical rows of shops. Form the shabby magical shop of Ollivander’s to the gigantic white wizards bank Gringotts. There’s magic in every corner!
Now Knockturn Alley. This row of shops aren’t quite like Diagon Alley. Its windows of dark magical objects. These will give a fright to many! You never know what dark things are lurking in a corner. Just seeing Borgin and Burkes, you sense that there is dark magic and wizards/witches everywhere.
You’re probably thinking “They’re so different! One is jolly and the other one is dark!”
Well, there are similarities.
Similarities:
1. They both have shops.
2. They are in the same place. (Well to get to Knockturn Alley you have to get to Diagon Alley.)
3. They both have “Alley” in their name.
4. They both have magical things. (Even if one is dark magic, they both have magic, that’s what makes them really interesting).
Differences:
1. One is a group of shops that has dark magic and the other one doesn’t have this.
2. Knockturn Alley is dangerous, because usually many dark people are in there.
3. Knockturn Alley sells things that are more like collective and illegal, while Diagon Alley sells things that you would normally use and that are legal.
4. Diagon Alley is a place full of jolly people and laughter, with a lot of light (sunlight and things like that), however Knockturn Alley is a dark place with silence, no laughter, no joy.

I have interviewed Kaela Black on the HDN books. Keep reading to find out more about them!
Beezer: I have heard of a new project that you have been planning… What does it consist of?
Kaela: This project is called "HDN Books" and its partners with the HDN to make interesting stories.
Beezer: Who is taking part in that project?
Kaela: We have hired some members of the Hogwarts Daily News such as Manya, Lily Eastwood, Luna, and Samantha Love but have also recruited some people outside of the HDN like Aurora Lovecraft (my fav HiH author)! We are working on recruiting more amazing authors now.
Beezer: What are you hoping to achieve with it?
Kaela: Although the Hogwarts Daily News is working very hard the number of reads on each issue is not as high as we hoped so we thought we could make some more pieces for entertainment instead of informational.
Beezer: Have you published any books yet?
Kaela: Yes, we have published the first chapter of a Dramione story (Tuesday) called Love Unexpected; A Dramione story.
Beezer: Why do you think some of your readers will prefer this kind of reading?
Kaela: I think some of our readers will prefer this because it is more climactic. It has a storyline and some of them are interactive. It might bring some spice to our readers lives!
Beezer: What kind of books are you expecting and from who?
Kaela: The books that we can be expecting to come out any day now are "Love unexpected" which is a choose-your-own-adventure Dramione story in the works by Samantha Love. The other one is called "The Humour of Hogwarts Houses Pt.3" this one is by Aurora Lovecraft a brilliant author who wrote books like WAVE, the lost letter, and the other three parts to this hilarious book.

Fun Fact
Did you know that both Hagrid and Professor Umbridge were inspired by real people? Hagrid was inspired by someone J. K. Rowling met in a bar. He was big and looked tough, but all he wanted to talk about was his petunias! Professor Umbridge was inspired by one of J. K. Rowling's teachers that she had when she was at school, who wore pink a lot and liked cats. As you can probably guess, this teacher was not one of Rowling's favorites. It's interesting that one of the most loved and one of the most hated characters were based on people J. K. Rowling met in real life!
