The Last Chapter/The Sorting Ceremony
Chapter 11
September 1st.
The Sorting
Autumn and I got off the train, wearing our Hogwarts robes.
There was a big guy holding a lantern and trying to gather up all the first years, I could only assume since he was saying, "First years! First years! Come over here! First years come here!", the big dude said. And when I said big, I meant big. He was about eight feet!
"Come on. That's Hagrid. He's trying to round us up so we could go to the castle, on boats across the lake. By the way, he's half giant if you were wondering.", said Autumn. Well, I sure needed that fact!
So, we got on the boats. Four people each boat. I was trying not to get my diary wet.
Me and Autumn got on the same boat, with two boys. One of the boys Autumn couldn't stop staring at...
We were on for a minute when I decided to introduce myself.
"Hey. I'm Miley. Miley Sanber. I'm a muggle-born.", I said. The boy Autumn wasn't staring at looked up.
"I'm Jake. I'm pure-blood. So is my cousin Cody.", said Jake, gesturing to Autumn's crush.
Cody waved. He had blue eyes, and light brown hair. I elbowed Autumn. She was still staring at Cody, smiling slightly.
I elbowed her again. "Huh? Oh! Yeah, um I'm Autumn! I'm also a pure-blood! Nice to meet you. Hope we become friends!", she said overexcited, shaking hands with everyone, holding Cody's hand longer. Cody smiled and nodded slowly, obliviously creeped out, taking his hand away.
We reached Hogwarts' entrance.
It was amazing inside, almost as amazing as the outside!
We came in the Great Hall, which was packed with noisy students, quieting down as we came in.
"I am Minerva McGonagall. When I call your name, please come up, and put this hat on. It will read your thoughts, and sort you in one of the Hogwarts's houses. Now, please come, Actagone, Stuart.", said a tall, strict looking lady. A short, skinny boy approached a stool, put an old wizard hat on, and sat for a few seconds. "SLYTHERIN!", the hat screamed, almost making me drop this diary. A long table with mean looking people cheered, the boy sat down, with all his fellow Slytherins congratulating him.
Time passed, and I put away this diary for a while.
Soon, I heard my name.
"Sanber, Miley!", said Professor McGonagall.
I gulped, holding onto my diary.
I remember sitting down, putting the hat gently on my head, aware everyone was staring right at me.
I breathed in and out, eyes closed, though, the hat was already past my forehead.
"RAVENCLAW!", the hat screamed.
The rest, was a blur.
I remember pushing the hat away, standing up, people cheering, passing Autumn, who hugged me tightly, sitting down again, people patting my back and cheering once more....
The rest of my friends also got sorted into Ravenclaw, which included, Autumn, Cody, and Jake.
We made our way to the Ravenclaw common room.
And, here I am, sitting down on my bed, writing in this diary my whole crazy story.
I heard a knock on the door.
"Yeah?", I said.
"You wanna go outside with Autumn, Cody and I?", I familiar voice asked.
I smiled. "Sure Jake."
