Beauxbaton Academy of Magic:

This magic school is for both wizards and witches and is located in the French Pyrenees, in France. Its Headmistress is Madame Olympe Maxime. Founded in the 1290’s, the school is located in a beautiful palace surrounded by magical gardens with fountains. When travelling, the students and the staff use carriages pulled by winged horses. The official uniform for this school is pale blue silk robes. Some of its well known students were Nicolas Flamel, the creator of the Philosopher’s Stone, and Fleur Delacour, who participated in the Triwizard Tournament.

Castelobruxo:

This school is located in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. It resembles a golden temple, but when Muggles see it, it will look like ruins. The building and its grounds are protected by the creatures called Caipora. This school offers exchange programs for students with European wizarding schools.

Durmstrang Institute:

This school is one of the three largest European wizarding schools and is located in Northern Europe. It is one of the schools that participated in the Triwizard Tournament and it is notorious because it has Dark Arts in its school curriculum. It doesn’t accept Muggle-born students, but not all of the students share this prejudice. The main building of the school is a castle and it is surrounded by lakes and mountains, and, because of that the school is unplottable. It was founded by Nerida Vulchanova in the Middle Ages. One of its famous students was Gellert Grindelwald, but we was expelled before he completed his studies. Before he left the school, he carved the symbol of the Deathly Hallows on a school wall and it cannot be removed. Its former headmaster was Igor Karkaroff.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:

Of course, we all know Hogwarts!! This school is located in Highlands, Scotland. Its previous headmaster was Albus Dumbledore, but now is Headmistress Minerva McGonagall. The Hogwarts motto is “Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus”, which means “Never Tickle a Sleeping Dragon”. It has four houses, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Slytherin. When Muggles see the main building that’s a castle, it will seem like ruins. It was founded in the 10th century by four founders: Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin, Helga Hufflepuff and Godric Gryffindor. A young witch or wizard, that is going to attend Hogwarts, will receive a owl with the acceptance letter and those who are Muggle-born, will have a visit from a school staff. The grounds around the school include a Quidditch pitch, the Great Lake and the Game Keeper’s cottage. Around the school grounds, there is the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade. Hogwarts has a lot of peculiarities like moving staircases and secret underground chambers. Witches and Wizards cannot apparate and disapparate inside the school. This is one of the schools that participates in the Triwizard Tournament. The school year for this school begins at the 1st of September and ends at the 30th of June.

Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:

This school is located in Mount Greylock, in Massachusetts, in the United States of America. Its headmaster is Agilbert Fontaine. Its houses are Thunderbird, Horned Serpent, Wampus and Pukwudgie. Stand for House Elves: House Elves and Why They Deserve Respect

So, of course, we all remember Dobby the House elf. Dobby was, and still is, one of the most loyal characters in Harry Potter. Dobby, a House elf who was mistreated, still wanted to help. HE EVEN DIED FOR HARRY! It is definitely unfair how House elves are being treated. Sometimes they do like their work, true, but it is very important that we appreciate House elves for who they really are, not servants, but friends. And surely we all know Winky! The House elf who was accused of something she didn’t do, the House elf who was as equally innocent as Dobby? THE ELF THAT DIDN’T EVEN GET CALLED BY HER NAME? I’m looking at you, Mr. Crouch. Sorry, I am getting a little shouty here. What I am trying to say is, House elves really do deserve much more respect than we give them. We should let them do as they please, and if they like the work, let them do it! We need to respect that they are living beings, and they have feelings too. Moral of the story, you shouldn’t judge people based on their race, skin, gender, nationality, or appearance.
