Chapter 6
After I heard Hermione gasp, I stepped back, worried that someone was in the room. But Harry opened the door wider to reveal an empty room filled with desks. We walked inside and saw that the desks were covered in, as Draco had said, maps, guards, occupants, long story short, everything we would need to break into Azkaban and then back out again.
Hermione looked nervous, "Harry did you bring your invisibility cloak?" She asked in a terrified squeak. "No." Harry answered, examining a map. Harry's response only made Hermione more cautious.
I picked up a large map and unfolded it. It was a map of the whole prison and the sea surrounding it. "We should use this map." I said, showing it to Ginny who was nearest to me. "Would we need a list of the people who have been chucked in there?" Ron asked, holding up a long piece of parchment that had been rolled up. Now that it had been unrolled, it reached the floor. "Does it say where they all are?" Neville asked, "Yeah." Ron replied. "Then we should take it. Did anyone bring a bag?" I asked. Hermione held up her school bag full of her books, homework, ink, quill, and her spare parchment.
"Great." Ginny said, "Just empty it out and we'll start putting things inside. We should be quick, someone could come in at any moment." Hermione looked startled, "I-in my bag?" She asked. "No, We're going to put it in Ron's purse, of course your bag!" Ginny said. Hermione shook her head, "But- but all my school stuff-" But Hermione was interrupted. "Accio bag!" Hermione's bag flew into Neville's hands, he turned the bag upside down with apologetic look at Hermione. All of Hermione's stuff fell out of the bag and onto the floor, Neville then held out the bag for me to put the map inside and for Ron to put the list of Azkaban inhabitants.
Hermione silently helped us look for more useful things, but didn't talk to any of us. Finally we had gotten a few maps, the list of occupants, and a list of the Azkaban guards. We silently sneaked out of the room and once we were back in the atrium we walked out casually.
"What next?" Neville asked as we stood outside beside the thestrals, "Are we going to ride the thestrals there?" He continued. I thought for a moment but before I could answer, someone else did. "Thestrals would attract too much attention. We should apparate." Draco said. "So, what? We just desert the thestrals?" Harry asked. "We could fly them back to Hogwarts." Ginny suggested, "They can get there on their own." I said. I walked over the the nearest thestral and said, "Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry." And with that, the thestrals took off, leaving the 7 of us alone.
