Christmas
Chapter 8
The two weeks after the Ball were the Christmas Vacation Weeks. I caught up on all of my homework the first couple of days. After that, Lizzy, Zac, and I just hung out. I thought about what I wanted to get them for Christmas and decided on giving Lizzy a muggle softball signed by her favorite muggle player, Jenny Finch. I had to call my mom at home and ask her to try and find it.
For Zac, I asked my mom if she could spare money for a Firebolt and she said yes. So I decided to give Zac a new broom. The Firebolt. I also got each of them a box of chocolate cauldrons. I hoped that my gifts would be enough to satisfy them.
On Christmas morning, I found a stack of presents at the foot of my bed. Everybody else was already opening theirs. I grabbed the first present and ripped it open. It was a box of Bertie's Every Flavor Beans! I said thanks to Zac because it was my favorite sweet, and I opened the next one.
The next one was filled with pranks and a book called 12 Fail-safe Ways to Prank People. I loved pranks and it was an amazing gift from Lizzy. Lizzy loved the softball and the girls started eating their sweets right away. I wondered how much Zac would love the Firebolt I gave him.
I got my answer when Lizzy and I went downstairs and saw Zac with a HUGE grin on his face, showing off his broom. He saw me and thanked me over and over again. I laughed and we headed down to breakfast together. It took many tries to get him to leave the broom in the common room.
The Great Hall was decorated very beautifully. There were a lot of Christmas Trees covered from top to bottom in colorful ornaments. The ceiling hung with silver and golden tinsel and a big banner that says 'Merry Christmas!' The tables already had plenty of food on them like pancakes and eggs! There was even hot chocolate!
After breakfast, we decided to have a snowball fight, so Lizzy and I grabbed Charity, Hannah, and Ginny and we all got into our snow stuff. Zac and Ryan were already waiting for us once we got outside. I immediately grabbed a handful of snow and chucked it at Zac. It hit him in the shoulder.
We threw snowballs, built snowmen, and created snow angels until we couldn't fell our feet. We went back inside and had more hot chocolate. And just like that, it was time for dinner. We ate a delicious Christmas dinner with turkey and mashed potatoes. Then we went to bed with our stomachs full.
