Making Up
Chapter 6
A full week has passed since Zac and I fought. The Ball is next week and I really want to make up with him so that we can go together. Every time I see him, he leaves or finds an excuse not to talk to me. So I decide to leave him a note. The note reads;
Dear Zac,
I'm sorry we fought. I don't want to blow you off and I would much rather spend time with you than do homework. It's just, we've been hanging out a LOT! And I LOVE it! But I need some time to hang out with my friends and get work done! I really like you and I don't want to stay mad at you. Please forgive me. And if you want to, we can start doing our homework together again! That way, we spend time together while getting our work done. Also, the 2,000th Anniversary Ball is next week, do you maybe want to go with me? Don't feel pressured to answer right away. I just hope you say yes.

I showed the girls the letter and they were really impressed. So during Charms class, I slipped the note into his bag and waited. That evening, after dinner, I was walking down the stairs when I stopped. Zac was sitting on the couch looking at my picture! So he wasn't mad at me! He put the picture in his bag, and then got a confused look on his face. He pulled out the note and opened it.
By the time he was done reading it, he was smiling his cute smile and showing his perfect, white teeth. He pulled out his quill and wrote something on the back of the parchment. At that moment, Ginny walked in. Zac asked her to give me this piece of paper. I ran upstairs before either of them saw me.
I pretended to not know what it was when Ginny gave me the parchment. It said this;
Thank goodness Mari! I did not want to stay mad at you either! I'm sorry I got upset when all you wanted to do was do your homework. And yes, I want to go to the Ball with you!
I ran down the stairs and hugged Zac so hard, that I was sure he couldn't breathe. We both said sorry and then sat cuddling up close on the couch. I eventually got up and went to bed dreaming happy dreams of--well you know.
