The Worst Day
Chapter 4
I woke up way too early. It was around 4:00 in the morning. But I couldn't go back to sleep, so I just sat around and waited until Lizzy woke up. When she finally woke up, we went down to breakfast together. "Where's Zac?" I asked. "One of his friends told me that he is sick today," she answered. "Oh," I said upset.
After breakfast, Lizzy and I went straight to History of Magic. I barely got an E on my essay. But I was happy! The class was so boring, that I fell asleep because of my lack of sleep last night. Professor Binns caught me and I received a detention. PLUS! We got another essay on a bunch of famous wizards and witches.
Charms was OK, except I accidentally set another girl's robes on fire. Professor said that everybody makes mistakes, but the girl was NOT happy. I was the only one who needed to have extra practice for homework that evening.
The same thing happened in Transfiguration. I didn't manage to fully transfigure my beetle into a button. It was still rounded and didn't have four holes in it. We got a quiz on correct incantations and wand movements. I'd be surprised if I even got an A on it. Professor Litwick was NOT impressed.
The only good thing about today, is that Potions wasn't double. I scraped an O on my Sleeping Drought which was great, but today wasn't. Professor just talked about the 12 Uses of Dragon Blood that Dumbledore discovered. And we were given an essay on them.
The free period we had after Potions was boring because Zac couldn't take me to our Special Place. So I started to work on my Potions quiz and quit halfway through. I started my History of Magic Essay, but it was boring so I stopped.
The Care of Magical Creatures lesson was cancelled on Friday because the teacher was sick. She's fine now, so we head to her hut for the first lesson. When we get there, Professor Virneburg is standing next to a unicorn! The lesson was really fun and I couldn't wait for tomorrow's. But, we got ANOTHER essay. This one on unicorns.
I got through the last three classes OK, I got more homework, but not too much. When I got back from dinner, I was glad to see that Zac was back from the infirmary. He asked me if I wanted to go to our Special Place. I really didn't want to blow him off, but I had soooo much homework. So I had to. He looked really sad and he slumped off to bed.
I got all of my homework done by 11:30 that night so I walked to bed. Everyone else was asleep, so I plopped down and dreamed the night away.
