Boyfriends and Homework
Chapter 8
Sunday went by in a flash. I spent the whole day either at Quidditch Practice or hanging out with Zac and Lizzy. I ate dinner with Lizzy and Zac then went straight to bed. Again, I dreamed about Zac.
On Monday, I went to my normal classes and turned in my homework. I was given even more homework and told I would get the results back next week. In Potions, we learned about love potions. Zac, Lizzy, and I were partnered, as usual. So I stole a quick look at Zac when Lizzy was answering a question about love potions. Zac was mouthing something. I think it was, "Meet me at the Special Place during our free period today." I mouthed back, "OK."
After Potions, we had a free period. So I told Lizzy that I would be back in a little while to study for an upcoming quiz. I sprinted outside and made my way to the Special Place. I found Zac there looking at my picture again. Once he saw me, he stuffed it in his pocket and walked over to me.
"Um, Marietta?" he said, "Will you... go...out with...me?" he said embarrassed. My chest fluttered and I almost screamed, "YES!" I ran up to him and hugged him really hard. He hugged me back and I got a huge urge to kiss him. So I thought, "What the heck?" I pulled away and kissed him. On the lips. His eyes widened and he froze. But then he kissed me back. For a few wonderful seconds, I felt like nothing could tear us apart.
I pulled away and he smiled goofily. We walked side by side, hand in hand back to the castle. When we got back, we ate dinner in silence. Lizzy and everyone else in my dorm seemed to know that something was up. So when dinner was over, and we were in our dorm room, everyone bombarded me with questions.
"What is up with you and Zac!?" Lizzy asked excitedly. "Well, we went to our usual spot, he asked me out, I said yes-of course-, and then," "What, WHAT!" Hannah, Charity, and Ginny shrieked. "We, kissed," I confessed. "Ohmigosh, where, and how good was it?" Ginny asked. " "It was on the lips, and it was wonderful! We kissed for about 30 seconds. And guess what!?" I said. "What?" the girls asked. "I made the first move!" "OK girl!" Lizzy said.
I went to the common room to find Zac with his homework from History of Magic and Transfiguration. I pulled mine out and we worked together on it sneaking a few kisses when no one was around. I finally had a boyfriend and no one could bring me down!
