The Reaping Part 2

Chapter 3
I mean reality had already sunk in but it my mind finally processed it. Lyma told us to wait in separate rooms at the back so family and friends could visit. My mother and surprisingly, my father did too. My mother gave me a brooch made of copper with a small amber in the middle. It didn't look great but that was the point. I didn't want to attract any attention from other tributes or Gamemakers. "You know what's this for," my mother said. I did but I still didn't know if it would work. Suddenly, Peacekeepers came in and took my parents away. Lyma came in with my mentor, Porter Millicent Trip. She won the 38th Hunger Games but because of a spinal injury she had to wear a head brace. She told me that the train was leaving soon so Patrick & I followed her. We stepped onto the train and travelled to the Capitol.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------On the train, Porter explained what was going to happen. First we would arrive in the capitol, then get ready for the chariot parade, train for a couple days, then get ranked by the Gamemakers, have interviews, before finally getting thrown into the arena. She asked if we had any skills. I said stealth and intelligence but Patrick said he was okay with a sickle. He is not much bigger than me but he has way more chance of winning than me. I know he can fight because I've seen him wrestle people at school. I didn't know his name but now I do. Lyma then interrupted us by saying we were in the Capitol. I looked out the window. I gasped the Capitol was impressive. Big buildings, perfect roads and all the people were so rich! The train slowed and everyone but me stood up. They started walking off and were already at the door before I stood up and ran after them. I stopped on the station and took in what was around me. We followed Lyma towards the Training Center. Patrick glanced at me worriedly but I ignored him and kept walking. We reached our destination and paused outside the door.
