The Bloodbath
Chapter 15
*WARNING- VIOLENCE IN THIS CHAPTER*
When my eyes adjust to the light, I look around. The arena this year was a forest. I could hear the timer counting down.

To my right is Katniss and to my left is the boy from 7, Zasha. On Zasha's left, is Cato who is stretching his muscles. On Katniss' right, is Marvel and next to Marvel is Clove. Lots of Careers around.

I look for Patrick. He is the very first tribute on the left side.

Everyone is getting ready to run- either to the Cornucopia or to the forest.

I get my feet ready to run away. In the Games, the most people get killed now. It's called the Bloodbath for a reason.

I can imagine all of Panem watching. Waiting. The Capitol will be going crazy but the Districts will be sadly watching. Katniss is looking at Peeta and shaking her head.

The timer is almost finished counting down.

Only 3 seconds to go.

I run into the forest. I see Peeta, Rue and a few other tributes run in the same direction. I don't see Patrick and realise he didn't listen to Porter. I don't mean to be negative but he's going to get killed. He doesn't have as much skill as the Careers. The Careers kill at least 2-3 people each. I run to a tree that looks like I can climb it. I climb it as fast as I can. I make it up far enough to not be seen. There, I sit and watch the fight. Already at least 3 people have died. I see Katniss getting chased by Clove but not being able to kill her. Clove then kills the boy from 9. 4 dead. I see Patrick kill the girl from 3. 5 dead. Patrick and the boy from 10 ambush Cato. They don't kill him and they are both lucky to have no injuries. Glimmer is currently slashing someone's stomach out. 6 dead. Cato is chasing after people. He catches up to the girl from 4 and pushes her into a crate. She's not dead but she is injured. Zasha and the boy from 6 are fighting. Patrick starts fighting with the girl from 7. Zasha grabs a spear and is about to stab Patrick when Thresh runs past. Thresh distracts Zasha. Patrick crawls away. Zasha runs after Thresh. Thresh sees him and pushes him to the ground. He hits him in the head with a curved sword and kills him. 7 dead. Patrick runs into the Cornucopia and grabs some supplies. On his way out, Cato slashes him in the stomach and he coughs up blood. He falls to the floor and is motionless. For a second, I feel sad but then I remember that people have to die. At least it's not me. 8 dead. The girl from 7 gets killed. 9 dead.I see the boy from 6 get beaten up by the Careers. 10 dead. Cato then kills the boy from 4. 11 dead. That's the end of the battle. The worst is over. For now.
