Chapter 2- The Vanishing Glass
Chapter 2
Hailey was in her adoptive father's truck, singing along to country songs, her red hair flying in the wind. She was going to a zoo. Her father needed fresh hay, and their hay that they grew died randomly. Her father pulled up in the zoo parking lot. "Can i walk 'round this here zoo, pa?" Hailey asked.
"Come straight back." Her father replied. Hailey was ecstatic! She couldn't believe her luck! She walked in and saw the strange boy, by a snake.
"Hiya! I'm Hailey!" Hailey said. "Who are you?"
"I'm Harry." The boy answered.
"Whatcha up to, Harry?" Hailey asked. Harry opened his mouth to reply but a man and wife walked over.
"What are you doing here are? Get away!" The man yelled. Hailey ran away, tears gathering in her eyes, messing up her vision.
"Hail." Her father said, hugging her. "What happened?"
"People are mean." Hailey replied, wiping her eyes.
"C'mon, let's go home." Her father said, climbing into the truck. Hailey followed him, not singing along anymore.
