5 Common Assumptions about Snape

Chapter 7
1. Snape's love for Lily was very possessive, and not at all real.
This is not at all true. He risked everything he had for her son, and still people say this. If all his decisions don't scream for Lily, I don't know what does. This is loyalty beyond what most of us can even imagine.

2. He was not a good person. Just a bully who abused his students.
He was not a nice teacher, but he never bullied them. He was simply a teacher with favorites (I'm not saying that is good). He held a grudge with Harry, but he never did anything severe.

3. He was never Dumbledore's.
Once again, this is not true. All his choices scream "I am Dumbledore's". I don't like it how people just think of him as a bad guy, and can ignore the evidence that he is good deep down, even if it is being waved right in their faces.

4. He was a Coward.
This is the assumption that infuriates me the most. HE WAS NOT A COWARD. He may have been a bad teacher. He may have needed some reminders on what was good and bad. He might have needed some points in the right direction, but nothing he EVER did makes him a coward.

5. Lily's death awakened him to reality.
This is the only assumption I am putting in here that is true. He needed some reminders on how life worked, and Lily's death was the main one. I am not saying that she should have died, but I am saying that it changed his life for the better.
