Who Is She?
Chapter 4
As I flew, I continued to wonder about the girl. Who was she? It was so unlike a human to approach a dragon like that, and she completely bewildered me. I didn't understand it at all. She had said I knew her, but I didn't, did I? My past was fuzzy to me, due to the fact that I had been in that cave so long - that seemed to be my only history. But of course that couldn't be true.
I realised I was paying no attention to where I was going so I stopped, and looked around. I was heading east, so north would be to my direct left. I turned and proceeded, my wings beating in a steady rhythm and my gaze flashing with energy. My scales shimmered and glimmered in the sun, and the cloud carpet beneath me looked soft and solid, though of course it was not solid. I let my front feet skim through the pale mass, and I enjoyed watching my claws slide smoothly through it. The sun beamed through the clouds, and I analysed it, admiring its beauty.

Everything seemed so peaceful. My motions were regular and unperturbed, my gliding relaxed and even, and everything was quiet and bathed in tranquillity. However, my thoughts were the complete opposite.
