I waited patiently, or as patiently as I could, for the next Hogsmeade trip. "Why're you so excited for the Hogsmeade trip?" Ginny asked wonderingly as we stood in line for Filch to check our names on the list to make sure that nobody sneaked out. "Oh, nothing. I'm just ready to get away from Ron and have a change of scenery." I replied airily.

I bouncing on the balls of my feet, waiting rather impatiently. "I haven't seen you this excited since we got new books in the library!" Harry said watching me. I just smiled, "So I'm not allowed to want to be excited?" I asked. At that moment I saw Ron snogging Lavender Brown, but I noticed that I didn't mind very much. "No, you're allowed to be excited it just... doesn't happen that often with you, especially not since..." His voice trailed away. I noticed that he was watching Ron and Lavender too. I quickly looked away and instead focused on the line in front of me again.

"Finally!" I announced once we had made it outside. Ginny laughed. "Are you gonna come into The Three Broomsticks with us today Hermione?" She asked. "No, I'm meeting someone else." I said vaguely. "Who? Where?" Harry questioned. "In front of his store. But I won't say who, or what store it is." I answered, blushing. "Oooh! So it's a boy!" Ginny said interestedly. I blushed even more.

When we reached The Three Broomsticks I said goodbye to Harry and Ginny and continued to George's shop. He was waiting outside again. "Hi," I said breathlessly, "Hi...err...Hermione...do you...err... want to be my girlfriend?" George asked. He was looking down at his feet, and he was blushing like mad. I could tell that I was very red too. "Yeah." I said quickly so that we could get past this embarrassing moment. George looked relieved, "I mean, you couldn't expect me to say no! After last time we met!" I said playfully.

"I can't wait to hear all about Ron's reaction!" George said happily as he walked me to the door. We had spent the whole time in his store, admiring how clean and nice it looked and chatting happily. We kissed goodbye and I left. I couldn't stop smiling as I walked towards Hogwarts.

When I entered the Gyffindor common room a few minutes later I was still smiling. But then something happened that wiped the smile from my face. "Hermione, can I talk to you? Please don't punch me again!" It was Ron. "Fine." I said coldly. Ron blushed, "I... well... I'm really sorry... it was stupid! I was stupid! Please give me another chance! I promise I won't make that mistake again! Or any mistake! Please?" He cried, he was lucky that the common room was mostly empty or this would have been extremely embarrassing. "Sorry Ron, but I'm dating someone else." I answered, savoring the look on Ron's face. "Already?! Who is it?!" He said, looking desperate. I watched him for a moment, "George." I said with a tone of finality, and I walked away, grinning.
