Chapter 1
It wasn't my fault, having to be an assassin. You can say what you like, but anybody who lived in that year 1584 would've understood, I think. There was war, there was poverty, and it was even harder for an orphan. I'm an orphan. How was I supposed to make my way in a world full of greed and hate, in a life more brutal than my job?
That's another thing. It was just my job. I didn't think of it any other way. You could've judged me, but I wouldn't have listened. Not then.
