Hazelpelt's Story

Hazelpelt is a warrior in Windclan, and troubled by the strange trespassing Thunderclan cats, that continue to cross Windclan territory. And when she is summoned by Harestar she wonders if it is something to do with Thunderclan's suspicious behavior... I am doing this book on behalf of a group I joined, that primarily concerns Warrior Cats.

Chapter 4
There was a pause. The silence seemed to bear down menacingly on Hazelpelt as she stood there, motionless, ears pricked and eyes attentive. Then Ravenfur said, "This way, then." He led the way forward, then curved left, and padded along, his pawsteps soundless on the ground. Presently, he said, "We can't stay too near the edge though, can we? I mean, we have to get into the Thunderclan public a little bit, so we can overhear what they say and learn why they're trespassing on our territory."
Hazelpelt nodded her agreement. Her apprehension at being caught kept her oral faculty incapable of working. Every small, insignificant sound seemed loud and important, and Hazelpelt involuntarily shuddered mentally. Then suddenly there came a crunch of dead leaves as some unknown weight descended on them. Ravenfur halted, and Hazelpelt felt a shiver of fear. Then, out of the darkness two yellow eyes gleamed. Hazelpelt, against her reluctant will, found herself backing apprehensively away.
"Do we have company?" A sleek, slightly sardonic voice slipped out of the shadows as another pair of eyes joined the first.
"Yes," came a curt reply. "I believe so."
