A Potter in Slytherin
Chapter 1
As Harry stepped under the Sorting Hat, it shouted,
"SLYTHERIN!"
Everyone stared. A Potter in Slytherin ? No way! Everyone thought the Hat was lying, but they knew that the Hat never lies. All the students except the Slytherins loathed him, while the Slytherins were proud of having the 'Boy Who Lived' in their house. But Harry started to grow apart from the other Slytherins, for he longed to be in Gryffindor with all the brave and popular people. At last he couldn't stand it. He trudged up the steps to Dumbledore's office. "Professor," he asked, "Can you let me be Sorted again?"
"i'm afraid not, Harry. If you really belong in Gryffindor, you need to show the spirit and the Hat will know if you are truly a Gryffindor."
The next day, Harry fell asleep in his Potions class. Professor Snape banged him on the head with a book, and Harry's potion exploded, leaving a coat of grime on his face. All the Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors laughed, and the Slytherins scowled. When he went back to the Slytherin common room, he was tired and bored, so he picked up the new Daily Prophet and it had a big title saying: HARRY POTTER : REALLY THE CHOSEN ONE?
Harry sighed, and started to read;
'Harry Potter A Slytherin, by Elphias Doge - When Harry's parents were young, I taught them for their whole seven years at Hogwarts, and I saw them grow closer, eventually marry, and have Harry. Now then I didn't know what became of Harry, but the Dark Lord put a part of his soul in Harry the night he tried to kill him. That may, and should, be the answer to all the questioning of Harry's house.
